Comments on What’s the Difference? Acrylic vs. Gel Nails
@PerfidiousOne Thanks for watching!!
@MysTaria87 Hi! If it’s a powder, then it is acrylic:-)
@BlackAutumn90 Hi! Either one can stay on long depending on how the nails are prepped and how the tech applies them. It also depends on the individual. If you have naturally oily nails then that could cause lifting as well. There could be a lot of reasons.
@xohugsandkissesxo Hi! I have a few gel nail tutorials posted. I might have some newer ones posted in the near future. Stay tuned:-)
@SillySparkl3z You’re so right:-) I wish more people could see that.
@teekayno14 Thanks for watching! I hate that more people don’t know the difference and end up getting scammed out of money. Thanks for sharing your experience with us:-)
@holyshomly Aww thanks:-)
@gabstaa17 Thanks:-)
@irkedpuppy lmao, creepass.
will you marry me? you are so pretty.
@gabstaa17 It’s funny cuz I KNOW YOU IN REAL LIFE.
Hey, I’m subbin (:
i got scammed recently…i went to the nail salon and i wanted to get the uv gel done….he brought out some powder form product i asked him y it was powder he showed me the pack that it is called UV GEL POWDER…
so i went to another salon to get a refill then i found out i was scammed. Its just very sad. Never going to that salon AGAIN!!!
i was wondering if you can do a gel nail tutorial ?
what I want to know is which ones stay on better? Like with some places, my acrylic nail would stay on for a month before it started lifting. However with other places that used acrylic i was lucky to have them on for 2 weeks before they started lifting. Which type stays on longer without lifting?
Oh, wow.. I just got mine done yesterday and they used a powder form. They gave me nail tips… so do you think it’s just acrylic that’s on my nail?
You presented the differences quite well. Thanks for the advice!
@mikaj428 Hi!! A traditional gel overlay does offer the same strength as acrylics. However, some people w/ extremely weak nails still prefer acrylic. Gelish is more so a gel polish so it may offer minimal strength (to natural nails) but not as much as enhancements. You can still get it as a color on top of enhancements. If you want to continue having longer nails with added strength, then the gel overlay would be a good replacement for the acrylics. Let me know if this makes sense or helps:-)
@littleclarky80 I get so tired of people who can’t read/listen and comprehend! Stop being RUDE w/all caps! At what point did I specifically say one was better than the other for the nails?! In the first 3 minutes of the video I said that from personal experience of wearing acrylics and the salon I went to, the drills caused damaged to my nails bc of the techs. If you read the below comments then you would see that I didn’t say one was better than the other one either. UGH!!!
NEITHER GEL OR ACRYLIC IS BETTER FOR YOUR NAILS!!!!!!!! Don’t slate one system because you prefer the other. Both adhere to the nail plate in the same way. For various reasons, such as occupation or nail condition, clients may get on better with a particular system. Damaged nails are down to your nail tech or to how you treat your nails, not because you have gel or acrylic! Damage occurs due to over filing, to repeated breakages or you picking them off, all of which apply to gel and acrylic.
I will be removing my acrylic nails soon and I would like to know does “gel overlay” & “Gelish” by Harmony offer the same strength? I’m sure my natural nails will be weak & thin and I want something that will give them strength.. I am trying to stay away from acrylics and the nail tech said Gelish” would be good.. Plz let me know what I can do once I remove these acrylic nails!!! Thanx in advance!
@Discernaoftruth Thanks for watching:-)
@BarbieJuices Hey!! I can help you make a decision. I need to know what your natural nail condition is. Do you have peeling nails, weak nails, brittle nails, etc? Do you play sports? Do you keep your nails in a lot of water? By knowing more, I will be able to give a better suggestion.
Which is better for my nail bed ugh!!!!!
Okay I want to get my nails done but I don’t know should I get gel, acrylic or Shellac Nails ???
